Our Golden Puppies

 

 

Thank you for your interest in Stonewood puppies!

 

Our puppies will have been handled since birth and be well socialized, introduced to wings and water.  They will have had their first set of shots, wormed twice, dewclaws removed, and will be examined by our vet prior to going home.  Each pup will have a colored collar and will be temperament tested to help buyers make the closest match to what they are looking for.

 

AKC Registration

Puppies are sold on a limited (non-breeding) AKC registration.  Limited registration does not prevent puppy from being campaigned in any AKC event except conformation classes.  Breeder can change Limited registration to Full registration when hip, elbow, and eye clearances have been obtained.  Copies of clearances (OFA Hips, Elbows, and CERF Eyes) are sent to Stonewood Retrievers, LLC.  We will then provide the buyer with a signed form that the buyer can submit to the AKC.

 

Reserving a Puppy

An approved Puppy Application and deposit in the amount of $250 is required to reserve a puppy. This can be with certified check or cash.  A puppy is not considered "reserved" until we have the deposit.  This deposit is transferable to another litter but non-refundable unless there is no puppy for you in your litter of choice.
 
Pick-up

Puppies will be ready to go home at 8 weeks of age. Please try to be here that day to pick up your puppy.  If you can't be here, we will be happy to pick one out for you.

 

We recommend you purchase a bag of Country Vet Naturals from us to transition puppy to acclimate puppy to their new home. Puppies will be sent home with registration applications, health record, copy of pedigree, guarantee, and other useful training info. Please bring a small towel along to rub on the littermates. The puppy will find the familiar smell on the towel comforting in his new crate or bed.

 

Shipping

Puppies being shipped need to wait until 8 weeks of age.  We can ship anywhere in the USA and Canada, out of Minneapolis, MN. or Duluth, MN.
Shipping usually costs approximately $400.  ($100 for crate, health certificate and trip charge. Approximately $300 for airfare.)  Airfare can be paid COD.  We normally use Delta or United Air Cargo.  Recommend getting a Nanny for the flight.
 

Considerations
On some litters, performance/competition homes will be given priority but this will be posted on the litters page.
We reserve the right not to sell a puppy to anyone we feel would not be a good match for the puppy.

 

Guarantee

Stonewood Retrievers, LLC has taken care to mate two dogs that have genetic clearances and sound temperaments.  Our puppies are guaranteed for Hereditary Hip and Elbow Dysplasia, and PRA.  The OFA, CERF, and a board certified Canine Cardiologist will be the sole judge in determination of defect.  Further information can be found in our Puppy Contract.
